I am only couple hours in but so far, I am enjoying it.

Took me some minutes to get the hang of the inventory system and reloading.
Love the style/design of this game. It reminds me of old-school games that you just go through with little to no handholding.

I originally started the game thinking it was going to be a boomer shooter. It's more like System Shock, not Doom.

There are stuff that are hidden that can help with your journey. Weapon repair kits, damage mods and some ammo in some hidden areas. Which feels great when you spot them. You can easily go through a level without spotting the hidden parts, since they are usually above, and the game just feels SO old-school that you forget to look up.

So far, I am actually enjoying the playthrough and not getting stuck easily. Like I did in System Shock.
I thought it was a finished game until I saw the "Early Access" somewhere.

**Update review: I do wish lots of places were more lit (brighter with more lights), because you are practically forced to use one-handed weapons and a flashlight on the other hand. Making it hard or rare to use two handed guns.
Also, I wish you could upgrade the few other guns. I do not fully understand the "damage system". Let's say a pistol has 5 dmg, and a shotgun has 8 dmg. You then get rocket launcher with 10 dmg, but weapon upgrade on pistol puts it to 19 dmg. But obviously the rocket launcher deals more damage.. Just confusing.

When you load in, the game stutters A LOT and can be like that for a short bit. Rarely it does suddenly happen mid-game and it does not feel great. Not gamebreaking though. Just a bit jarring.

I only encountered one bug, which was in the third area/level. When I killed an enemy near a console to open a gate. I looted the downed enemy, then everything became black. Just a black screen. I could still hear the game. I "fixed" it simply alt-tapping out and back in. No other issues so far. (Edit). It happened a couple more times, but the "alt-tab" worked everytime.

I recommend it to people that like little to no handholding type of games. Old-school and immersive.
I know it's a preference. No waypoint and map makes you much more engaged in the world, with paying attention to your whereabouts.
