We have no idea where they are heading, but right now the shop feature is mainly cosmetics that have no impact on the game.

The only except was the Wall-E bundle which includes three quests which do not impact the story line. I got that bundle but Gameloft has been very generous with giving us free moonstones so I did not have to spend any cash. I just use the moonstones I had got from blue chests in the game.

Is the Wall-E bundle worth the price? Probably not if you are paying real money. It will kind of depend on what you value. If you like all the cosmetics and have to own them all, you will be unhappy and paying if you continue playing.

the game will be going free to play for the base game soonish, no exact date. There are cosmetic items and such in the premium shop along with the wall-e bundle which the quests were not that interesting or different and the items in it were ok, the best part was the skin for wall-e, it is unclear if any of the later game will be paid or not but I am hoping not as more free content will keep more players in the game, they would be better off not charging for the next chapter as i feel more people will just drop it if they do.

This game was supposed to be free-to-play by now. The Dev lied though and didn't make the game Free-To-Play, after saying it would be once the Moonstone packs were able to be bought with real money.

You can buy Moonstone packs but the game isn't free. Stay away from this cash grab.

they never gave a date, they only said 2023 which isn't over yet. they could make it free to play by december 31 and still be keeping their word.

I think they've said early 2023, not sure but I played it on gamepass, os not that impressive. I wouldn't pay more than 10$ on this knowing that I will have to buy seasons after that and stuff.

It will be free to play once it's out of early access and players who bought the Founder's Edition(which is what gives you early access) will be rewarded with some exclusive rewards.

You probably are not remembering it correctly or assumed 2023 meant the start not the end. I went back through all their updates and they have consistently just indicated "2023" for when the game would leave early access. So technically, they can wait until December 31st if they want.

I have a feeling it will exit with or soon after multiplayer is added. That feature with a free game would get a lot of new players to pull the trigger and check out the game.

The only ingame content I would consider vaguely pay2play is the premium track of the Star Path.
But those are still cosmetics, so not unlocking those customizations has zero impact on the gameplay.

I must confess to being confused as to the meaning of pay2play in relation to this game.

“The game will be in Early Access until sometime in 2023; the exact date will depend on our development speed before then. This means that we will be in Early Access for a minimum period of 6 months.”

The key word is minimum, not maximum.

that was never a promise, that was the minimum amount of time. They clearly met some challenges that slowed them. Remember all the games that got their released pushed back by years and were still broken on release? THAT is why if the game isn't ready for release you don't release it. Most games don't get put out as quick as the original projection was because of unforeseen issues. Almost no dev team meets the minimum amount of time. Coding is not that easy and sometimes things go wrong.
