Buy the game when it goes on sale. Has been on offer quite a few times now.

This looks to be the new price structure, you might want to wait and get both expansions in the Enchanted bundle, people who already own the game get terrible choices, not worth being loyal to these people.
This hasn't been true for most games for a few years now. Most 'season pass' things now say what/how many DLC they cover. (I remember Fallout 4 had a "all the DLC" season pass, but when they later decided to make more DLC, they increased the price but had to let people who'd bought it before still have the DLC for the lower price. They're definitely not going to make that mistake again.)
. . . hmm, looking at the way they list it all on the game's page, they seem to have gone out of their way to be confusing. The chart shows that Rift In Time gets you the "expansion pass" - which is really just the Rift In Time DLC. I presume they called it that because the RiT content released as multiple live-service patches over a year, not as a single release all at once.
So, you mean, just like every other game that has DLC/expansions? People who bought a game at release always end up paying full price for any later expansions, nothing new or abusive about that. What you get over new players is that you've been able to play the game for two years (or whenever you bought it) participated in all the events, got all the limited time content, etc.
That might be fine if you are just starting out with the game, but the entire RIT season only took me about three months, taking my time, to get through. So that works out to a lot of waiting for new content if I had bought when it was first introduced.
I would recommend getting the best deal you can, but I think the more enjoyable way to play it would be to buy the base game....get through that, and buy RIT when it goes on sale, get through that, and you probably won't have long to wait for this new season to be on sale. Itr will be less confusing. Even with a lot of play experience, the RIT update really felt confusing to me on who was with what valley and where I needed to be to complete some missions.
Enchanted Edition is an option now if the base game and both expansions are desired.
Would you guys say the current gold edition being on sale would be worth it then? or maybe better when the new Enchanted Edition comes out?
The new enchanted edition is 79.99$/€ - (18.000 Moonstones)
Moonstones are a type of premium currency that can be obtained for free, either by doing weekly challenges, voting for challenges, with the daily free chest, etc...
Although they can also be obtained by purchasing them with real money.
More info here [dreamlightvalleywiki.com]
If you don't care about exclusive items and want to save 8$/€, go ahead.

Now:
I'm telling you this because there are exclusive items that will no longer be available (like the ones from the gold edition) that will be removed from the market on the 20th to include the new edition, which also include new items exclusive to that edition.
You can compare what the gold or enhanced edition includes and see which one you like better too. (skins)
