Just to clarify how it works - it doesn't just let you cook multiple things right *now*. You pick a recipe, queue up a number of them, and then it cooks them over time. So if you're looking for just a 'multiple' counter on the regular cooking, this isn't it.
That said, it works while you're out of the game. So I would set up 30 Berry Salad before I stopped for the day, and they'd be done when I played again.
(every 'ancient machine' has three levels, basic/regular/advanced. The cookers do 10/20/30 depending on the level. They may also cook faster, but I never timed it.)
This is much better then having to make each meal manually.
it's faster in absolute terms (if you need 30 <whatever> Right Now, manual cooking will get it to you first). But the auto-cooker takes much less of the player's time - doing a load of food takes me 10-30 seconds, and then I can run off and do other things. I don't get the food right away, but I don't have to spend a million clicks and pauses making 30 salads at the stove.
(and like I said, it'll keep running when I'm not playing the game at all, so I can load it up at the end of a play session, and it'll be waiting for me when I come back)
So, yeah. Pros and cons. All depends on what your needs are.
There's only so much clicky clicky a person can tolerate if making them manually.
I think my mouse demanded overtime pay!
For me personally, the other 2/3rds of the DLC are not of interest.
I got everything I needed from the existing 1/3rd.
Also, keep in mind, there are grinds attached and from my perspective, the sooner a player starts those grinds, the sooner they are finished.
In this specific case, it's not like you can just start up the DLC and instantly recieve an AutoCooker Level 3.
Upgrading the TimeStaffScepter to level 3, scavenging time rifts for the necessary components, collecting TimeEnergyMist, all takes time (pardon the pun).
Personally I don't think the DLC is worth the money in its current state, escpecially if we compare it to the base game with the same price tag (if not even cheaper). Though, If a person is a fan with the idea of an expansion pass ( which they don't even state in their description of the DLC ), and can accept bugs since they don't beta-test their updates, maybe it's worth it.
