JMHO but decide yourself if it's worth it to you. For every person that's enjoying it, there is another person who isn't. Who cares what someone else thinks? You may hate it, love it or consider it meh but at least it's only about You and what you think. Justify it only to yourself.
BTW I've never seen Beauty and the Beast and I already want to punch Gaston. When I get him to level 10, he will be silenced.
So you don't feel sorry for him in the slightest when he has his patented DisneyDeath moment.
Gaston is what made the DLC unplatable to me, there is something he unlocks I definitely do not want and so, I made sure never to advance his friendship to keep that item permanently locked. He can stay at level 0.
I only really wanted EVE and the watering machines anyway.
So my goal has been achieved and the rest of the DLC is irrevalent.
However, I recently learned you can only use 4 watering machines per biome, so the appeal of that device lessened after I found out about that restriction.
I went through the grind your little heart out experience with the original "season" in EA and you get a few weeks of stuff and then a few months before new stuff is released- and usually it only fills a week or so.
That was fine when it was EA, but now I kind of expect to get what I am paying for upfront. Not a fan of the delayed gratification buy now, enjoy later model.
BUT if you have done all questlines of the maingame, but still want to play every day or multiple times a week and you want to pay around 30$ for an UNFINISHED product, which we don't even know if it will ever be finished because things are unpredictable, then do it.
It is fact that you get a few new quests, new items, new seeds, fruits, tool, recipes, wood, better cooking/watering/collecting items, furniture unlocked and characters and maybe I forgot something here, you can spend roughly 10-30h with the quests depending on how fast you are with them and how you handle the level up of characters.
But also that the quests are nothing new, no new type of quests, no interesting puzzles, no too crazy new things.
You have the minigame, not sure if this is only a DLC thing, you have the new tool which is also not really exciting tbh, at least not for me.
For some people, me included, is the dlc also filled with bugs.
The bulk cooking, watering and vacuum are more a joke than anything else. You will have to farm a new resources apart from dreamlight, you will have to find parts, will have to limit yourself to only use I think 1 machine at the same time, please confirm.
Even the way to unlock those things is hidden behind a longer quests, that took me 8 hours or 10 to finish and then I still had to find all parts and get enough to even pay it.
Some people are into these type of grind, which is fine, but hiding a gameplay mechanic that should be in basegame to begin with is a bit meh.
And always remember, we were told it will be f2p, that they also not gonna put characters behind a paywall, so them now saying dlc will be complete in summer 2024, we don't know what the future will bring.
Is it a good dlc, it is okay.
Welcome to live service games. People have been buying "unfinished" expansions since World of Warcraft and earlier. "Buy expansion at it's launch, content releases over the next year+" has been a common practice for at least 15 years, long before the modern mobile/f2p industry. It's nothing new. /shrug
(ditto with "season passes". Yeah, I bought the Fallout 4 and Battletech season passes when their first DLC came out, only knowing that there would be more DLC in the future that I would already have purchased.
. . . and thinking about it, I subscribed to comic books and magazines back in the 80s/90s, only knowing that I would get more issues of them, not that I'd like what content came in them.)
edit: but yeah, I've also waited on buying DLC 'complete' collections, or trade paperbacks of comics. That works too. /shrug
It's given me a lot to do. I think it's worth $30, it's almost a game in itself. Only 3 new NPC though.
not even 3 new hours ?! you drunk or what ?! is more than 3 h !
is very worthy dlc ! just buy it ! ignore everything and buy it ! you will have the fun of your life !
