The game only lets one type at any time be active.
For example, when my AutoCooker was batch processing some meals, all my Ancient Gardeners went offline.
Really, seriously?
That is so useless.
I didn't know that. What is the incentive to build them all, then?
🙄
Sorry but this expansion has a lot of counter intuitive decisions in it.
I set up my cooking machine to make 30 berry salads; then went and harvested pumpkins, replanted them with the gardening machine, and it proceeded to water them.
So it seems like you can have them running at the same time.
You can only have a maximum of 4 Ancient Gardeners per biome.
I had already reached my limit, so AG5 deactivated.
I was trying to install 15 in the same biome.
Wondering now what to do.......
I don't like the idea of having to space out my crop harvests across several biomes, that's time inefficient.
Some I upgraded to Advanced.
I have a patch of veggies in the Glittering Dunes in the new land, since it keeps asking us to to do things there and also to plant or harvest veggies in the new lands. And I keep chests nearby with some seeds in (same as in the original valley, in the Pleasant Meadow.)
So anyway the Advanced one will JUST reach all of the rows of crops. I forget how many I had. Maybe 8 long? 4 deep? So that's nice, not to have to keep going back, to water.
@Tilarta thanks for that info. I was wondering what use the machines were if we can only have one.
I really want to put a Vacuum one in the original valley's Plaza. I am so sick of looking at stray sticks. Does it also take out the weeds, I mean, herbs and vines?
I only have Plaza trees in the Plaza and some other places. Btw, if we remove all trees including Plaza trees, do sticks still appear? Does Kristof sell that type of wood? I can't recall.
There are way too many crops in the Meadow for me to use machines on it all. Mostly I just let the pumpkins sit until I need a big influx of game dosh.
Or once we make one advanced machine, could we carry on just making new ones that are advanced from the outset? Otherwise that's a LOT of core thingies every single time.
I don't want to do 3 sets of machines just to get one machine, EVERY single time. I want it to be like making a large storage chest -- just make one, from the outset. Thanks.
*blink*
. . . why? O_o
I was afraid of that. *has a sad*
I was hoping the ingredients list might change once one had been made.
Or maybe some future quest allowed that to occur, or something.
Hoping someone had seen a way that we did not have to make 3 machines every. single. time.
Thanks for the info. Devs, future update: Please let us just make the machine we want, once we've made the first like it? Thanks.
Meanwhile, my ancient cooker is busily turning my large chest of berries into a large chest of berry salad.
A bit disappointed in the vacuum. It does not pick things up until we tell it? I used it to scoop up all litter which was nice (and cost Mist), but then the litter began appearing soon after that.
Do we have to TELL it to pick up litter, each time? That seems counter intuitive. I want it to just do it for me, like a Roomba. Lol
I know we have to start a Roomba but we can also just leave it running.
Then I want the vacuum to let us take what we want and delete the rest. Without taking it to inventory before deleting what we don't want.
So glad I waited before I wasted my inventory making these. UGH I have mixed feelings about this expansion.
Because I do not enjoy having to water all these plants manually and then having to do that task for a second time when they dehydrate.
In this screenshot, there are only 4 machines, which is the set limit.
Obviously that is not enough for a farm of this quantity.
