Not implemented yet, but they don´t take space in your inventory anyway.
And maybe a "favorite" checkbox. So you can put the stuff you like up to the top of the list.
(if you ever want to participate in the Dreamsnaps stuff, it'd be good to keep all the things you've collected, so you have things that match required colors/tags/etc.)
I have to filter items far too much for my liking due to the overload of items/costumes I do not want or need.
But on a technical level, I think it does take up memory space.
I don't remember where I saw it, but I read a note stating each item obtained adds to the game's memory demands, even if not placed or used, the game still has to record ownership of the item and how many are owned.
I think that was followed by a warning not to buy too much of any one item to avoid overtaxing the memory of the game.
Never heard of that, it´s the limit of objects placed in the valley
