I am playing most of the story and interactions with characters. I guess if you are a collector type, it could be frustrating (or expensive), to deal with collecting every item.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the game. It did not appear to be a game I would like. My initial impressions were a dress up game but it actually has a very good story and quests.
The content as is is great though. It took me about 100h to get through the most things until it become somewhat boring. That's totally fine for it's current price. Just don't expect too much of this one in the future.
(And it has a few mechanics that trigger gaming adiction if that's a thing for you.)
It appears I might even be able to build enough moonstones to buy a premium item occasionally. For OP- we earn fifty each day by finding a blue chest. There is a 3 placeholder bank so if you miss a day or two you can catch up.
Perfectly agree on the game being worth the current price! I really like the game and keep returning for every event. (Although there are some really nasty bugs currently, such as loosing your savegame for no reason or items disappearing!)
However, I don't agree on the shop statement. The shop is really more a rip-off than a fair pricing model. Free Moonstones are worth nothing as you need to farm them for months to be able to buy anything from them. (You get 50 per day while interesting items cost 2000-4000 = 40-80 days of farming.)
The paywalls will certainly come at some point. Call them DLCs if you want. Question is, will they be as weirdly overpriced as the ingame items are? Who knows.
Yes, you can farm Moonstones within the event path, but they only help with the next event, not the current. And you won't earn enough to activate the next event. You still need to farm a few more Moonstones at the next path too, before you can afford the path.
None of those things inhibit or are required for gameplay, you can go through the entire game without encountering a single paywall.
I’ve grown disinterested in combat games due to pay2upgrade mechanics, so I am finding I prefer these games more now.
The kind of game where you can just play to have fun.
The best part however the content is not locked behind a paywall. You can sink in a lot of hours especially if you are a new player and this game is very chilled back, good graphics, good quests, really nice looking realms and a really solid story line which grows with every major update. I would highly recommend you try this game out. You might just like it like many of us here :)
You can't collect all the rewards from the star path unless you unlock premium.
Seeing as how the cosmetics ARE the content, I'd argue that they are locked behind a pay wall.
It's pretty chill and fun, and if you enjoy disney its cool to have classic characters as your neighbors.
Personally I don't find the microtransactions to be too in your face. The "battlepass" they have going on has lots of great items in the free track and I personally haven't felt the want or need to buy a premium pass yet.
They have recently introduced the shop and I think the prices are quite high. Which is fine for me, just another reason not to purchase anything. In my opinion as long as they dont start locking disney characters behind a paywall I will continue playing
Your take on what is important is different than mine. I have no interest in the cosmetics at all...even the ones we get standard. They are sometimes interesting-like the cardboard space suit, but if Scrooge's Store shut down I would not miss it and still enjoy the game.
I agree. As long as they lock cosmetics and things we don't really need, I'm fine with it. I don't care about any of that stuff anyway. But if they start locking characters and other important things, I'm done.
