The stones are movable, so I would assume they serve no function in the game, otherwise they would be locked/immovable.
edit: if i were to put in my idea it would be one of the floating islands is their home and when we unlock tinkerbell we could fly there?
An average brown rat (Remy) is 15cm when standing upright, so she'd be slightly shorter then he is.
That's not too bad, while she's definititively going to be our smallest villager, that's still enough to see her visibily.
