So whatever limits there are would have to be based on whatever the weakest of the platforms is.
(plus, yeah - the limits have to allow space for all the other incidental changes & things that can happen. Dug-up spots & their fading with time, crops & their growing/watering status, spawning of resources. . .)
I didn't think about the fact that they are probably having to limit because of Switch capabilities (I'm assuming that's the weakest system), so thank you for that clarification :) . I play on PC so I'm used to only being limited by my personal system, not other peoples. But I wish they could still give us a bit more, especially with more characters and item choices coming into the game.
If this was a PC only game, the limit would be much higher.
Hence why you should not use mods if you intend to share your save across platforms, will result in a corrupted file.
Ooooo!! I like the sounds of that. I am a PC exclusive player. You haven't come across any issues at all? Because I'd love to give that a try.
I'm the author of the mod and therefore using it literally since it exists (which is Oct'22), since then 2 major game-/content-updates were released and I'm still using the same savefile since I started playing the game without any issues :)) Knowing what exactly the mod does & that it only consists of literally 8 lines of code, I can guarantee you from a technical standpoint that there are actually no issues possible, ever. The worst that could happen would be, that an Update would result in the mod not working anymore, which would then let the game see how many objects you've ACTUALLY placed, (let's say that'd be 4500/3000) and then not let you place down any more objects until you've removed enough items to fall back under that 3k limit. However, for now I plan to contuinue updating the mod to new game versions, IF an update should break the mod in some way.
I've answered similar questions in the posts tab on the NexusMods-Mod page, you might wanna have a look at that in case of any further questions or concerns; also, feel free to contact me personaly anytime :))
