Cannot download the Avatar Designer Tool

So, I installed the main game and then tried to install the Avatar Designer tool and, every time I hit "Download" on the store page, nothing happens.
I look under my list of games, it's just the main game
I look under my list of Tools and it doesn't appear to be there

Is there something I need to do to reset it? Restarting steam isn't working and the actual program just isn't appearing

I believe you can't install the Designer Tool once you're purchased the game unfortunately. Had the same issue too but honestly it's no big deal.

There was an advice post somewhere and I believe a dev post advising people to install the Designer Tool first before purchasing the game.

Same. Mouse cursor acts like its doing a thing and then nothing happens.

I faced the same problem and found a solution.
You can download the Avatar Designer Tool from the Microsoft Store and then enter the avatar code in the Steam game to import the avatar.

But.. If you already have the game, why not just create your avatar in the game rather than the tool?

In fact, there is an even better solution. You just need to login to a Steam account that doesn't have this game and download the Avatar Designer Tool with it. Then switch back to your account and you'll find the Avatar Designer Tool in your library.

The avatar designer tool creates a code which you copy+paste into your game directly.
Doing this unlocks whatever clothes your new avatar was wearing (if not already unlocked)

You also unlock an exclusive Dreamlight Jersey when the import is complete.

If importing into an existing game, I would recommend making sure the physical appearance of your avatar matches the one ingame, otherwise you will erase their appearance when the import concludes.

you can download it on epic, but because it counts as a demo if you already own the full game steam won't let you download the tool here.
