I would have liked a lot more Kasuma AND his successor, both playable characters and a story about the ending of one and the origins of the other. Instead, you have a weak chapter 6 and Like A Dragon, where Kasuma and the others are just guests out of place.
Let's see what will be next: Judgement 2 or Ichiban new advertures?
2028 yakuza kiwami-6 with rtx 8080 godlike graphic. im on waiting list baby
Very small minority here but I liked Yakuza 6's combat compared to Kiwami 2. While Kiwami 2 has a lot more moves and heat actions, the difficulty is piss-poor even on legend due to having too many heat moves. Yakuza 6 on the other hand has much less moves which makes boss fights more challenging. I also like how in Yakuza 6, Kiryu goes full gorrilla mode, swinging his fists continuously while in Extreme Heat Mode compared to Kiwami 2's Extreme Heat Mode where Kiryu pretty much does the same combo that he does without the Extreme Heat active.
I actually was surprised my final time on it was about the same as my first play of 0, because 0 never had me feeling bored. I'm only on chapter 8 of 6 right now, but I'm liking it much more than 5 so far. Things are actually happening at a decent pace. I get the comparison to 3, but even as short as 3 was, it felt like it dragged too. Mainly because around a third of the total playtime was talking to and chasing around the kids instead of actually being related to the plot.
And honestly, I was initially against having a new protag, too, but as I've gone through more of the games, I'm coming around to it. No, I don't think he will be gone from the series, but I do think having him step into a less direct role, or even as a mentor, is a good idea. Problem I have with that is Ichi is 42 years old in his first game, only 8 years younger than Kiryu, so the whole "passing the torch to the new generation" doesn't really work like it should. Maybe if Ichi was in his late 20s or early 30s, it would be better. As it stands, they should have set the tone more like Ichi is an up and coming peer to Kiryu, rather than a rookie new kid on the block.
