Not so much worried as suspicious. Reading online really isn't giving me a lot of faith in it being something I want on my computer......
Especially considering I can find no information on it, no site to look at, nothing whatsoever... Didn't even ask me if I agreed to install the damn thing it just did it.
Will fully admit to not being in the online multiplayer scene so much or at all anymore. Tend to stick to singleplayer and co-op games nowadays. Still though I have dealt with Battleye and EAC and at the very least they asked to confirm installation.
I'm sure it's all fine, just never heard of it up until now.
I mean it has unrestricted kernel level access to your system....
That's a lot of trust you are putting into a 3rd party program that I still can't figure out if I can trust or not.
You say this but ok with EAC? EAC does same thing and worse.

OP Post:
Black Desert Online uses Xigncode anti-cheat software. This is a bit of an issue for me due to their data collections and wellbia stating they're non-liable for damages caused by this poor anti-cheat. Wellbia is run by China which by itself isn't an issue until you notice it's had multiple leaks and security problems. If you remove the software you can't play Black Desert anymore but you also can't fully remove it without going into safemode. There is no uninstall option for the software even if you wipe black desert online off of your drive. It doesn't seem to send data packets out but it does log all information from hardware to software that's on your C:// drive. It has kernel level permissions which alone is a huge risk and is entirely unnecessary for an anti-cheat system for a $10 game on steam. If anyone has any more information to add please contribute. I'd like to keep playing the game but this is a huge red flag.
oh boy, they should switch to Valve on steam, not installing BDO as long as they use xigncode
