Beside that, Level 1>60 is basically just pressing 1-2 buttons for the entire experience. After that, the "difficulty" hikes up and enemies are suddenly incredibly bloated. Endgame raids have quick one-shot mechanics that are server sided, so if you get clipped by something, you're going to die.
If you're playing for the visuals, you could probably just play KurtzPel instead(also an equally trashy game). For the combat, you're get a better experience in Black Desert(equally as trashy), or PSO2.
For what it's worth, the game is a decent time waster if you've got nothing better to do.
It doesn't take a genius to recognize and point out a game's flaws, and boy, SoulWorker has PLENTY.
so basically the only thing this person should play is pso2 because you personally like it? lol
That's just silly to even say. As for saying BDO being supposedly trashy, that's so untrue. I have played BDO for 4 years and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. Bdo can't be as trash as you say because it has a bigger player base than PSO2 so it can't be that trashy. I got bored of PSO2 after only a few months of playing. I do plan to play the new genesis version because i played the beta and i actually enjoyed it more so then the original version. So you are entitled to your opinion but you don't have to tell the person not to play this game simply because you didn't like it. lol
- Having a combo system is not unique to SoulWorker
- Beating up hundreds of enemies in a short amount of time is not unique to SoulWorker
- Armor breaking to force down phases is not unique to SoulWorker
- Frenzy/Awakening/Desire Gauge is not unique to SoulWorker
- Having a Stamina system is not unique to SoulWorker
- Having one-shot bosses is not unique to SoulWorker(and is common in many KR MMOS)
- Mashing your hotkeys to throw out skills is not unique to SoulWorker
- Socketing items into your costumes/gear is not unique to SoulWorker
- Setting character cards for extra stats/summons is not unique to SoulWorker
- Being in a post-apocalyptic setting is not unique to SoulWorker
- Having characters die in every area is not unique to SoulWorker
- Having artificially created superhumans is not unique to SoulWorker
There is nothing unique about SoulWorker, all of it is just mishmashed, commonplace ideas stuffed into one boring package.
Wow, you must have been living under a rock for the past year.
Larger player base does not necessarily make a game not trashy. People live and breathe PVP, and whether PVP is amazing or not in a game, if PVP is the main focus, a game will either die in a fire, or thrive for years.
Let's be real, unless you're a lucksack, a megawhale, or someone who's willing to dedicate 16+ hours a day to no-lifing grind spots, or potentially all of the above, good luck getting full PEN circle.
If you like mindlessly looping over the same rotation for 10+ hours, then congratulations, you probably enjoy watching paint dry. I'd rather have my ability as a player tested than to sit there bagging on mobs that hardly fight back for hours of pointless repetition, for little to no return.
Will you admit that BDO is a bad game? Probably not, but that's just fanboy wool covering your eyes.
PSO2's early content is garbage, I wouldn't blame you for not sticking around to its conclusion.
However, among many F2P mmos, PSO2 just does everything right. Bosses are never impossible or cheap, they have clear animations and tells on when they're going to do things, and gear isn't the end-all, be-all. Your skill as a player trumps the game's difficulty, and paying money does almost nothing to that end.
Contrary to Korean-made MMOs, where shelling out $1,000 may or may not get you anywhere.
PSO2 is not perfect, but it's certainly a lot better than any Korean MMO on the market by a long shot.
the only thing really harder about pso2 is affixing. i have had my plenty share of undergeared people getting into UQs with 7 or 11 other people and expecting AND getting a free carry. at least right now in end game SW raids, each person has to pull their own weight.
yes soulworker could use some changes but what game doesn't? PSO isn't perfect either.
I do not play BDO anymore not because I dislike it but I just am looking for something different to play these days. I go back to it from time to time. Assuming I'm a fanboy because I don't necessarily agree with you 100% is dumb. Please don't be that person. I do not think BDO is a bad game, it has its good points and bad points for me just as every game does for me and everyone else. I'm not saying your a PSO fanboy because you feel its above everything else lol Everyone has their own opinions and if someone prefers a game you don't necessarily like doesn't make your opinion any better then thiers.
I played PSO up until episode 6 so I played pretty far in. My favorite thing about it is the story but I didn't care to much for the graphics, the fact it is HUB based and premium being the only way you can sell items on the marketplace. I've come to like that it's HUB based over time so that doesn't bother me as much. I just feel like PSO got stale after you caught up with story content but I'm excited for new genesis being that it'll be more open world like and its a fresh new feel and everyone is essentially kind of starting from scratch in a sense.
