What is happening to this game is unfair

really? Are you guys giving negative score review because of the last two characters? That they announced FOR FREE?

I usually ignore any negative thing people go on the internet, but what is happening right now with this game is so unfair that I feel that I need to write about it.
Before anything, if you don't like the game itself, it's fine, everyone has their tastes and preferences and I'm not here to change that, the problem is leaving a negative score or hating the game just because you didn't liked a DLC character.

let's do a quick summary, since the game got released they:
- released 8 new characters (including the 2 that are coming this week)
- added 9 new stages (one for each new character, Aoko got 2 stages)
- added 29 new musics (9 from the new stages and 20 from classic Melty Blood)
- added new story routes (for each new characters and Boss Rush)
- several new color palettes (that you can also edit them on color edit)
ALL of this above they added FOR FREE, where every other fighting game you had to pay for it (even for colors in some cases), but here they added FOR FREE, you didn't had to pay anything. Let's also not forget that the developer made a lot of changes on the gameplay that people was complaining about it (like giving you an option to turn off auto-combo, thank god) and they even released the funny cat people asked for.

I know a lot of you don't like FGO (including me), but this Melty Blood exists because of that, they paid for most of this game, it was obvious this was going to have more characters from there. While I did really wanted more classic characters to come (especially Ryougi) I'm complete fine with the characters they chose, because they look really cool and most important, fun to play it. And free. If you paid attention to one of their twitter posts, Neco Arc (the one summoning the FGO characters on this game) said these are the last summons, so no more FGO characters (probably?). Nothing is stopping them to release later more classic characters, they even confirmed they will keep supporting the game after this next update, so there's more stuff to come (probably paid DLC after this point)

I love this game, it's personally my favorite fighting game right now and I'm complete fine if you don't like it, but seriously, it's so unfair for a game giving this much stuff for free getting all these hate recently just because of the last characters, that are also FREE, while the other games you may got characters you don't like and you have to pay for them. Don't hate this game just because you hate FGO, just see them as new characters on Melty Blood that you may like playing, and if not, hey, at least you didn't had to pay anything for it, just don't forget all the free stuff they keep adding on this game in an era where you have to pay for everything on videogames, this is so rare on these days.

In the other hand, well said OP. There's nothing much to add really. Also, I belive the game will do just fine, as you said the game still has lot of love and content from devs and publisher alike.

This is actually the state of the general gamer these days... They are ungrateful, self entitled, whiny and frustrated emature beings that think that everything revolves arround them and what they want. Most of them never worked in their life and they want everything for free.

Just keep giving those reviews a thumbs down and hopefully Valve will remove those review bombing like they did for another game where people were review bombing over a free dlc they didn't want

Altough I understand the pain for Melty fans, its free. Come on. Its not like the disappointing DLC for Guilty Gear (at least for me. I was expecting other characters.)

Personally, I hope to see Sion sometime, since I liked her in Under Night as well as in Melty Blood.

but Ushiwakamaru is actually a top tier waifu, probably even more than most melty/tsukihime characters (except kohaku and miyako).
ishtar is trash, deal with it, and satsuki is boring as hell.

Free doesn't mean good. Just because it's free that doesn't mean that's what we want. It could have been free Melty Blood characters.

If the Fate characters were free, who are they gonna sell when they do paid DLC? Selling old characters when they were giving new characters for free would be terrible.

Atleast from what I've seen JP fans are quite happy, especially with Ushiwakamaru.
