This AI generation thing is just AWFUL

So yeah.. can we just all admit now that this whole "AI" thing is about as useful to this game as a 2nd scrotum? Its never once worked for anything Ive ever put in it.

Insofar as I can tell.. its not "Generating" squat.. its searching a pile of pre-generated images, as I have repeatedly seen the same images over and over again.

But the fact its not even CLOSE is why its 100% useless.

There is no text in the screenshot. The AI is supposed to write a text.

The main feature of AlienGPT is the on-the-fly generative TEXT it creates after you send in your description. It not only generates your background lore, civ description, etc. but also the diplomatic and trade responses other Civs have when you encounter them.

Similarly, when you play against them, their dialogs with you are also unique. The civ it generates is unique and no two are the same.

The image, by contrast, while pretty, is just the best fit it can find based on previously generated images that get queues up. It just means few people have asked for space rats for whatever reason.

That said, it should be noted that at least 2 of the choices are, in fact, space rats.

He wasn't white knighting, he was actually telling you how to use it. Keep your phrasing short and sweet when describing what your race should be.

"Hyper intelligent space rats that conquer their foes through advanced technology" is way to long and you should have shorten it to just, "Advanced technological intelligent space rats or rodents."

"Hyper intelligent space rats that conquer their foes through advanced technology." actually sounded ridiculous.

I think it's pretty neat, but why so much anger about a completely optional part of the game? It's a much more advanced civilization builder than I've seen in other games. Am I sad that there wasn't a fluffy space dragon picture for my 9 year old daughter's faction? Sure. But there are still a lot of portraits to choose from.
