Plans for DLC or anything?
Haven't had DLC since release, is this game just "finished" and no longer getting DLC or support?

Hey at least they plan on "making more games like this" as stated on their website.

That doesn't give me much hope personally. They were hyping up BRC for years before release, and the only DLC was straight up ripped from Lethal League Blaze (which I personally don't mind, but the renaming and recolouring was pretty bad, didn't even add the option to use their default colour). The game itself is quite nice and I don't personally think it severely lacks content all things considered, but maybe a slightly high price for the content that's in it.

They could have easily added other characters from LLB but decided one pack was enough.

imagine a game releasing with all intended content upon release and not charging for originally planned content that didn't reach the release window where it was shipped in a half finished state.
I know, wild aye.

$52 for a 12 hour game with no additional content or support whatsoever. Yeah yeah keep blindly defending it like the white knight you are, bud.

The way I see it, we got an extremely fun game that 1. Felt just like Jet Set Radio while being its own thing. 2. Gave me (and probably plenty of others) a solid dose of nostalgia as I played through it. and 3. Finally made Sega realize that it can and should make Jet Set Radio again after 20 years (ignoring phone ports and the like).

Even if the devs of Bomb Rush never touch a game in this style again, we got plenty of good out of it besides just a really well done game. Calling it abandoned is kind of silly when the devs never promised downloadable content or expansion packs or whatever else. If this was supposed to be another live service game, you'd be fine saying it. Personally I hope they take what they have learned and make another cool game.

I don't disagree with most of what you said, but whether you consider it silly to point it out or not: it was indeed abandoned on release. No updates or additional content. You can be satisfied with that, and for a game like this I can't fault you for being satisfied with that, but it was indeed abandoned.

Think about how much support LLB got since it's release, it was pretty rad imo.

It was not abandoned. We did get hotfixes and a small content drop as a thank you. If you want an example of a game that was truly abandoned, you need to look at something like Cube World (which is due to get a major update, but even that announcement came years after the disaster that was the Steam release).

To each their own, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a game releasing in a complete state and remaining that way instead of relying on feature creep for audience retention. I also think an expansion of sorts would've been wonderful, but I can't complain much considering how much fun I had with the game and how much more fun is there to be had with mods.

I'm still lowkey hoping they're cooking some map DLC or official multiplayer expansion behind the scenes, but I certainly feel like I got my money's worth with how much fun BRC provided. It sure is petty to say it was abandoned and that it should've had more considering its price (which is $40, not $52) vs. play time when it was never intended as anything close to a 100h grind fest that could've gone for 80h less, an issue a lot of bloated games face.

I've never seen this sort of complaint with games such as Dead Space or the Resident Evil remakes, all of which go for about 12-20h and have extra content intended primarily for hardcore players, not the general player who plays the game once and moves on to something else. I don't see why it's valid to complain that an indie game costs $40 and has 12h-ish of content without post-release content updates when we have AAA games that go for about as long and cost $60 for the most basic version.

What content drop?

The price is $52 CAD, you're just ignorant to regional pricing and different currencies outside of your home country.

Everything else you said was basically just your opinion so I feel no need to reply to any of it since everyone is entitled to their own and I've already stated mine.

Had you mentioned you were from Canada, perhaps I wouldn't have to try and correct you.
$52 and CDN$52 are not the same thing, hence why BRC is $40 and not CDN$40. Doesn't seem like I'm the one who's ignorant to regional pricing and foreign currencies...

I wasn't stating my opinion, but rather making a counter argument to your complaints. Moving on, I guess.

You literally admitted you were wrong to correct me and then immediately contradicted yourself by pretending Canadian money isn't the same as regular money by saying $52 and $52 CAD aren't the same thing. Denying the fact that you're the one being ignorant is absolutely absurd, but you're obviously too thick headed to admit when you're wrong for more than a single sentence before changing your mind, so it goes without saying that you aren't worth conversing with any further.
So yes, it absolutely does seem like you are the one who's ignorant to regional pricing and foreign currencies.

It's safe to assume you're American due to your closed-mindedness and ignorance.

Anyways I didn't come here to argue with children who refuse to admit their mistakes. I just wanted an answer to my question, and I got it.

PS. He never mentioned the "content drop" lmao

When did I ever say Canadian dollar isn't real money? What I pointed out is that you never mentioned you were talking about the price in Canada. Like it or not, the dollar used in the US is referred to simply as dollar and signalled simply as $, nothing else. If you say $52, you can't blame anyone for thinking you're referring to the dollar, not the Canadian dollar. They are obviously two different currencies. $52 is different from CDN$52, which is different from NZ$52, £52, and ¥52. If pointing out currency exchange is being ignorant of regional pricing, then I guess the global market is a myth and everyone gets paid in Monopoly money 🤦‍♂️

You're further proving that you're the ignorant one here. Honestly didn't expect this from a Canadian, seeing as this sort of nonsensical talk of money usually comes specifically from those born and raised in good ol' 'Murica.

Also, I'm Brazilian living in the UK. If there's one thing I know is regional pricing and how important it is to refer to your local currency properly.

The Micro Boy update was a small content drop (that's what we call when an update has content, which the Micro Boy mini game is even if it's such a small inconsequential feature) which also included a plethora of QOL updates and fixes. We had another small patch after that which added more QOL features and fixes.

Now feel free to prove yourself wrong once more by replying to me 💁‍♂️ If you don't, you actually win. If you do, you're only throwing your misguided judgement that I'm ignorant, thick-headed, and close-minded out the window. Your choice.
