Map improvements
One thing I'd like to see is some improvements to the map, especially showing people of interest. I finished the game before I looked online and saw that I could unlock other characters because they don't have any indication either on the map or in game to show that they are special.

Also maybe post game other collectables should show up. It's just that the map is empty after all the tags are done

I hate that following a guide to unlock characters is basically mandatory because the game doesn't communicate that they showed up or where they are at all.

It would also be nice if so many of them weren't excruciating multi-step processes where they keep going to different parts of the map.

Tell me about it. The one in the mall, when she says meet at a store by the food court I was all over the place except the shop just next door to the last place she was

This. It makes little sense, especially with how there are no annotations for areas or landmarks. If I wasn't following a guide, I'd have been so confused when Coil mentioned Toy Toy-whatever-it's-called. He was also in a stupid spot on there.

the maps are not shown because the unlocks post beating the games are suppose to be special unlocks/ secrets. to make you explore the maps fully. they're not made to be like a RPG game where you can check map and see a quest/ unlock then go do it. it's much funner stumbling upon new unlock than looking at a map and going to said location. the characters/ costumes aren't even achievement based, so needing those isn't priority. they're just extra things to enhance the gaming experience. and if you have map locations on everything. it dramatically ruins the gameplay/ experience. the graffiti tags is more than enough to be shown on map.

Wandering aimlessly isn't fun, so you're wrong.
I'd also like the maps to show the locations of the character swap dance pads and the taxi post, at least once you've "touched" it. I understand that they wanted to encourage people to explore and learn the maps but since I only switch characters when I need a different movestyle it means that I have to leave the section I'm in to find a spot just to then go back for the one thing I wanted to do.

Yeah a slight improvement on the map would be nice, like green points for the characters on the map that are not realated to the main story, also a taxi sign once found, same for the dance floor that allow to switch characters.

If i remember correctly it was in JSRF, but the map was unreadable.
i feel the mini map could use a marker for taxi signs when you find them. it can sometimes be a pain to find one when you are trying to get away from the cops. maybe the same for washrooms to change outfits.
