Can you change which equiment to use?, like from rollerblades to skateboard?

I dont know if you can do it going on with the story, but i don't particularly really like the fact that I'm locked to use a character default equiment.
What i mean is i'd like to use the skateboard with Jay instead of the rollerblades.
Anyway game's good, loving it for now, soundtrack too.

You can change what equipment Red starts out with in the garage as you progress through the game. I'm not sure if Bel or Tryce can swap stuff. Unles s you can unlock Cypher pad as you play through the game

Are there any differences between the different move styles? I've tried them all and I can't spot any significant differences. It kinda feels like there is a tiny difference in speed, with skateboards being the slowest and bikes the fastest, but it could just be my imagination. Or could be character differences, as I have not unlocked the ability to swap move styles, I've just been swapping characters.

Hello, I've found an issue with the current choice.

Steps:
1) In chapter 2, switch character after the team call learning
2) get back to the hideout
3) change skateboard for each character

Issue:
with this 3 steps, you can forget all equipment except skateboard.

Solution:
a) While equipement change is not completely unlocked, secondary characters should reset to their original equipement between saves
b) an option should exist to get back to default character setting.

Current workaround for player:
rush the story :'(

Alright, turns out there are places only a bike can go, so there is at least one difference between move styles. Hope that means there is something special for skates and boards as well.

But I remember the game crashing after a cutscene at the end of Chapter 3 and the save file just let me continue past the cutscene into Chapter 4. So if that's why I can't change BMX, I hope there's another fix asides starting a new game again.

Glad a dev has eyes on this issue, I've got the same issue and have seen a few people on reddit saying the same thing.

Loving the game so far, you guys nailed it, this feels like it could have been the original JSR on the dreamcast.

Also on Switch, game crashed at end of Chapter 2 and I don’t have access to change skates at hideout. Just finished chapter 4. Game is amazing hope we get a fix soon! Worst case scenario I play through again and just hope that it doesn’t crash at a bad time again.

I had this exact thing happen on switch, I'm currently in chapter 4 and can't change to bike

I had this happening to me too with the switch version in chapter 2 and now i cant change to skates, hope they fix this soon
