How to participate in the DLC Open Alpha

The DLC open alpha is time-limited and will be available for the next 4-6 weeks. You can access it by switching the branch on Steam.

Before proceeding, please keep the following in mind:

• Bugs and other issues are expected.
  
• The balance may require adjustments.
  
• New content is currently only available in English.
  
• Audio-visual assets are placeholders or programmer art—no finalized assets yet.
  
• Progress made in the open alpha branch will not transfer to the main branch.
  
• Participation is entirely voluntary, with no incentives, just like in previous experimental tests.

The goal of this open alpha is to help us refine and shape the new mechanics based on your feedback.

How to switch to the beta branch

1. Open Steam
   
2. Right-click on Against the Storm in your library
   
3. Select Properties
   
4. Go to BETAS tab
   
5. Enter the access code in the “Private Betas” section. The access code is: LetMeTestTheDLC
   
6. Click on “Check code”
   
7. Choose “dlc2-open-alpha” from the drop-down list
   
8. Wait for the game to update the files
   
9. Launch the game

In order to switch back to the regular version, please repeat the steps above but choose “None” from the drop-down list in step 7.

The open alpha branch uses the same save files as the Experimental Branch. Additionally, developer commands are available, making it easier to test specific features.

Important: If you want to play the DLC open beta, don’t choose the “experimental” branch, but the “dlc2-open-alpha” branch.

Developer console commands

The open alpha branch includes a developer console that provides various useful commands. You can open the console by pressing the ~ key on your keyboard.

Here are some common commands:

• help.all – shows all commands
  
• villager.spawn
  
• good.add
  
• good.addAll
  
• good.list
  
• resolve.change
  
• season.next
  
• game.win

Unlocking progress

By default, new profiles start at Level 2. If you'd like to skip a few levels, you can use one of the following commands in the developer console (default key: ~):

• meta.addEarly - unlocks early Smoldering City Upgrades (up to level 4), completes the Silver Seal, and advances to level 4.
  
• meta.addMiddle - unlocks middle Smoldering City Upgrades (up to level 9), completes the Platinum Seal (Prestige 5), and advances to level 9.
  
• meta.addLate - unlocks late Smoldering City Upgrades (up to level 14), completes the Titanium Seal (Prestige 15), and advances to level 14. Frogs and Bats are unlocked.
  
• meta.addAll - unlocks all Smoldering City Upgrades, completes all Seals, and advances to level 20. Frogs and Bats are unlocked.

如何切换到测试分支

4. 前往 测试版 (BETAS) 选项卡。

7. 从下拉列表中选择 “dlc2-open-alpha” 分支。
   
8. 等待游戏更新文件。
   
9. 启动游戏。
