Unity Game Engine Crash

I keep getting game crashes and a pop-up stating that the Unity Game Engine is not respeonding or something like that.

I updated my graphic drivers and this somewhat changed the nature of the crash but i keeps occuring. I have no idea if it's the game, my system or steam who's the culprit and i have no idea where to begin any sort of fix.

When the game crashes steam gets frozen for roughly 30 sec - 1 min and "updates" (Think of it like if you refresh a page in a browser) before being responsive again.

There's no log i can save and post or anything.

Anyone else having problems?

I found this in dxdiag but i have no idea what it means really.

Do you have a 3rd party antivirus installed if so wich one?

Did a test run today with promising results. Have been playing for about 3 hours without any crashes.

I updated my drivers for my graphics card
Updated windows
Uninstalled MSI Afterburner
Installed AVG Anti Virus Free Edition

Don't know which one of thoose made the final difference, but my bet is either windows update or uninstalling MSI Afterburner.

I have a fresh installation of windows 11 here. No overcklocking. GAme scrashes every ~20 Mins. What i can see: If seasons are changing, i get a black screen for 0.5 secs.

Solved it by letting Unity playback Engine trough the Firewall.

Additional info: "Unity playback Engine" is only the title fro the app. The name of the executable is: "Your path to steam"\steamapps\common\against the storm\against the storm.exe

Yeah I'm starting to get this crash out of nowhere too, I've done nothing to change my system settings. Now all of a sudden today, it's crashing out the ass. Unplayable.

Especially make sure that you have your drivers up to date. We moved to a newer version of Unity engine in the last update and it may require updating the drivers.

Hi! I compiled some tips that might help with the game crashing:

1. Make sure your GPU is not overclocked or undervolted. Many new GPUs are nowadays overclocked by default. From our experience, it's one of the major causes of crashes in Against the Storm.
2. Perform clean re-installation of the GPU driver.
3. Check the temperatures of the GPU while playing Against the Storm and make sure your GPU is not overheating. If it is, please lower the graphical settings (disabling VSync may have the highest impact).

We were able to identify that some new GPUs are having trouble performing certain operations in the game. When new graphic cards enter the market, it is not uncommon that their drivers are not stable. We recommend performing a clean installation of different versions of the GPU driver and checking if any version can run the game without crashes.

We're also checking what we can do to reduce the number of such issues and we hope to introduce changes that might help in the upcoming updates.

Rollback the graphics driver to previous version is the only option for now.
