Game resolution is unusable on launch

When I launch the game, the game window seems stuck on a tall, skinny resolution. Almost none of the UI renders and I can't see any buttons to change the resolution.

My monitor has a native resolution of 3840 x 2160. The game window is only about 800 pixels wide. I have not found any Steam settings or launch options to change the resolution. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and repairing the local game files through steam and there is no effect.

Is there anything I can do to get the game window to show at a reasonable size?

I saw there was an update patch. I installed it and I am still having the same issue.

Hey! It seems like the GPU picked an incorrect resolution when launching the game and the game is having trouble shrinking to such a size (it tries to scale to a wide variety of resolutions provided by the GPU).

If you can access the game's Options, you should be able to change the resolution there.

Alternatively, you should also be able to set custom launch settings (e.g. resolution and screen mode) in your GPU's software. E.g. in the GeForce Experience app, when you click on Against the Storm and select "Details", you can change launch settings after clicking on the wrench icon.
