Virtual Keyboard trader issue on Steam Deck

First off: I love the game.

Anyway on the Steam Deck a recent change has made the trader almost unusable, now requiring 4x as many clicks per trade.

Basically, when you trade the cursor focus snaps to the number box on the trade at each step of the process which brings up the virtual keyboard multiple times, which you then have to close to press the arrows, auto or ok.

The virtual keyboard should only pop up if you select the manual enter number box, as it did in previous versions.

Hey! By default, the game automatically focuses on the text boxes so that you can immediately start interacting with them (extremely convenient on PC). We introduced this feature based on a highly-requested player suggestion.

Invoking the virtual keyboard automatically in such situations is a requirement to meet the Steam Deck Verified criteria.

We know this can be frustrating, and that's why we also added an "Input Auto Focus" setting to the game's options (General tab, Control section). It's enabled by default, but if you disable it, it will only invoke the virtual keyboard when you start interacting with the text boxes.
