Hey! Let's go through the whole thing:
There can be nothing more sacred than a flame in a world soaked with rain. For every 300 seconds spent sacrificing goods in the Ancient Hearth, Hostility is permanently reduced by -20 (the bonus is added retroactively). The tracked time will be multiplied by the number of active sacrificing stacks. Same building effects do not stack.
And now let's dissect it:

There can be nothing more sacred than a flame in a world soaked with rain.
This is simply a flavor text.

For every 300 seconds spent sacrificing goods in the Ancient Hearth, Hostility is permanently reduced by -20.
There's a sacrificing mechanic in the Ancient Hearth that allows you to sacrifice 4 different goods (up to 3 stacks each). Every time you spend 300 seconds sacrificing, the Hostility of the Forest is reduced by 20 points. There is, unfortunately, a double negative there (reduced by -20) - we plan to do a text pass on all the descriptions in the near future to fix those. Sorry for the confusion!

Important: Hostility is reduced when the Sacrament of the Flame is active (there are three workers in the Temple). We may need to remove the word "permanently" from there if it adds to the confusion.

(the bonus is added retroactively)
The game counts the time that you spent sacrificing goods before you got the Sacrament of the Flame passive effect and then adds it immediately.

The tracked time will be multiplied by the number of active sacrificing stacks.
This is probably the most confusing part (we need to figure out if we can make it more clear). Each good can be sacrificed in up to 3 stacks and we take it into account when counting the time spent sacrificing goods. So, sacrificing three stacks will triple the time spent sacrificing. The same applies to sacrificing different goods. If you're sacrificing 2 stacks of Wood and 2 stacks of Oil at the same time for 30 seconds, the time spent sacrificing will be multiplied by 4 and will total 120 seconds. This works retroactively too.

Same building effects do not stack.
This simply means that building another Temple and adding all workers to it won't increase the Sacrament of the Flame perk stacks.

I hope this helps! I'd be grateful if you could let me know which part was the most confusing one so we can look into it.

The most confusing part: "The tracked time will be multiplied by the number of active sacrificing stacks". The mechanics were not clear.

Would a description like "Each active stack of sacrificed material adds to the tracked time" be more clear to you?
