The game rewards you for finishing a settlement fast. And the longer you drag on, the more hostility you will get and eventually your villagers will leave.

But if you don't know the mechanics yet then that might drag things down.
But let's say 30-40min?

Okay thank you :D

and if i am good then it just takes like 20-30 min?

Clearly I am doing something wrong because it just took me two hours and 30 minutes, hahaha. I was playing on Prestige 8 though, so maybe it's faster on lower difficulties or I'm just too much of a scaredy cat?

Maybe I just pause a lot but 40 hours into the game it takes me around 2–2,5 hours to finish a round on 3x speed.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one, hahaha.

I think the devs intended for players to play on x3 and never pausing except when selecting cornerstones and stuff. If you finish a round on year ~8 or so, the games calls it a "20 Minute Adventure". Though having done a few cycles now it still takes me much longer. Maybe an hour or longer per round, so not everyone is quite so fast.

omg I am not really looking forward to that

I am at prestige 13 and some games where I get really unlucky take like 2h30, but usually I'd say my games take like 1h~1h30

Average new games for me were 45 min -1.5 hr depending on how far from the citadel I got. Closer to citadel was easier and a shorter time. I pause very infrequently and play on 1x speed

I plan on at least 45 minutes to an hour, possibly 2 hours or more if it's a particularly nasty settlement, or I have some kind of major production bottleneck/setback.

An hour to an hour and a half is the minimum though.

It's possible to go faster, especially if you're fast while pausing and aren't distracted by youtube vids or other things.

I think I'm still in the 2-2.5 hour range normally. Heavy pausing with x3 the rest of the time.

I think as the prestige goes up it tends to drag a bit more since you really need to be micromanaging things and massaging optimum value out of every choice. I really feel the higher consumption prestiges (7 and 8?) and the extra build cost on buildings, it just kinda bogs things and means you need incredibly robust supply chains. Definitely don't know where they're getting the "20 minutes" in the "20 minute adventure" bonus, hahaha.

Under 2 hours should be the average, barring really bad mistakes/bottlenecks/etc.

Prestige 20 takes a little longer, but not by much overall.

Some of the REALLY lucky settlements I've had have taken to early year 4, and if I remember correctly I had an awesome settlement that finished by the end of year 3 once.

Both of which took around a half an hour.

So someone with REALLY great micro skills and mastery of keyboard shortcuts might be able to get consistent 20 minute settlements.
