How do you "beat" the game?

Is it completing all 8 seals? Or is there a point before that where the "story" ends and then anything else is extra?

It's a rogue like/lite game, meant to be played over and over. Is there a real end to Slay the Spire? Not really.

Having said that, you get something that resembles end/credit scene when you beat the 4th seal, another one beating all 8 seals, and finally one beating Queens Hand Trial (end game mode).

Thanks, I'm new too and I appreciate breaking it down like this. I like it when games have clearly delineated tiers of "completion".

You get the credits after the Gold seal, which is the fourth one, at viceroy difficulty. Doing more after that gets you some more dialogue and some cosmetics for when you visit 'Home' in the Citadel. One last cosmetic for doing the Queen's Hand bonus challenge. There are also a few achievements tied to high difficulty.

If you're doing an Any% speedrun it probably ends at the Gold seal, but you can feel free to keep going as long as you're having fun. 100% would require all the achievements, which include some kind of silly ones that won't be fun.

Maybe ill try to stop after beating this, "Queen's Hand Challenge".
