I quit my last QHT run because of boredom. I started on low difficulties to make 3 year games consistently. 20 games later, i have so many of those bonusses you talk about that i can do high prestige games on 3 years. The game becomes trivial when you start with so much extra stuff.
Yes you could produce them in a few minutes, but what you are missing is that you get them at the start. Everything is more valuable the earlier you get it. Also, when you gather 10 of these bonusses that each would take a few minutes, you are talking about dozens of minutes, or in game terms: years. Years that you can win faster, resulting in more games in a cycle and thus even more of those bonusses.....
Also, the cycles are getting longer with every seal you close. In the end you have >90 year cycles. That means you can get 32 games in a cycle. These bonusses help you in every game during the rest of the cycle. They are immensely more powerful than those measly 1-time-use 4 reserve embarkation points you can get from map modifiers.
