All Forbidden Glades Start
Just after starting prestige, I get a modifier for a start for it to be all Forbidden Glades, me, not remembering that those are the super dangerous ones, goes for it.

I load the map and instantly think I made a mistake. I have to open up a glade year one to get resources, as I have very little food. I had 9 villagers to start, SIX of them are dead by the time i finish the first Forbidden Glade. I think I am royally screwed.

I slowly rebuild my town from three villagers, and proceed to win in Year 8. I discovered a few things on that run. Which I thought I was going to completely lose.

1. Know your win condition. - For me it was tools. I had to create as many tools as possible to open the caches on the map for my points. That is the only way I could win. Got those buildings and the bare necessities for everything else.

2. Focus on what you can do the best. - Most of my previous games I would try to get the perfect set up of food, tools, and resources, and then power my way to finish the game in one fell swoop. I always wanted it to be perfect. This game I had to really focus on a few things. Getting majority food for one race, housing for only one race, and just have them pump me out favor like crazy.

3. Use Impatience to your advantage. -I used to want to keep it as low as possible. But now? let that impatience fill all the way up baby. It keeps hostility low so you can keep on doing what you need to during the storm. And gives you a much easier mid-game.

4. Pick your cornerstones for your map - This kinda goes with #2, but pick the cornerstones that let you do what you can do even better. It will make your game go much smoother, and you can trade for everything else.

Loosing villager isnt usually a big problem to me... it is not getting exploitable ressources that hurt the most...

For me those are the stuff that insta losed me runs were.

Not getting a single 2 star harvesting camp in the first free buildings, so i cannot really go for dangerous/forbidden glade since they will give me nothign to use...
Or getting full fertile land in every glade but having no building to exploit it. since fertile land take the place of ressources it can mean glade giving nothign except an event and fertile land, it suck... hard...

Everything els elike extra impatience hald the people dying and stuff like that arent a problem usually, just a time sink at worst.

For those reason i always at least take a camp or a fertile land building (if map doesnt favor one or the other (extra fertile land/no fertile land), it reduce the early rng which is when rng hurt the most.
