I of course brazenly chose the harder one on P20 with half an unlocked citadel :)
I think these now both exist. I don't know if this new thing also exists as a map modifier, i got it as a world event.
yes those are indeed "please fix my settlement".
Aron answered that during the 1.5 preview stream
Should have done that before i guess, will do now.
Are you not answering your own question here? Are these actual player saves, or just pregenerad ones within certain parameters, or just completely random?
If they are fixed at year 6 but started at year 4, how many years will pass on the world map`?
They are semi-procedurally generated. Meaning they have a few templates with some random variables in them. They are not actual player saves.
They start at year 3. The times starts then. I finishes it in year 6 and it counted 3 years on the world map. If you'd finish it in year 5, it still counts 3 years because that is always the default minimum for every settlement.
I don't know all the variables for starting resources. But from this first experience i learned:
-If you play P20, you must embark with amber because you'll be made to pay for every glade that is already opened.
-Its probably a very good idea to embark with fuel as you may start with none, it would enable you to produce blightfire and to keep the hearth burning without needing to add hostility from woodcutters.
-I don't know if there is also a chance to start with zero food, but since food is always a good embark anyway, until we know for sure, i would always bring at least some.
-Its always a good idea to embark with stones as you have a load of chests to pick from in all the open glades and the ability to do so right at the start instead of gather the stones first provides a lot of versatility.
-You don't really need to embark with people because you have a good number already anyway.
Wow, that is total BS by the developers. The forest obviously took payment from the past tenants, which is in part why that settlement failed. This seems like an oversight more than anything.
What about the Mystery about opening glades during the storm? If you have that, and the game starts in the storm, do you get the penalty for every opened glade? No? Then the rules are different as compared to the ember cost of glades at P20.
I'll watch the video later, but man, this triggered me.
