Questions on Royal Resupply options after a settlement completed
I understand Caravan Wagons, but:

1. What exactly are Reserve Embarkation Points?

2. What are the benefits of getting the 5 Seal Fragments? Which really means that I am not very sure about how these are collected, how many are needed (I always seem to have enough when I get to a Sealed Forest - I seem to have 20 at the moment), or what benefit there is from having more than is required?

MTIA!

1. Those are bonus points you can use on embarkation bonuses. You can store them so you can use them on harder biomes/seals.
2. Seal fragments are needed to close seals. These shouldn't be a problem but in theory you could rush seals faster. Also they give you metaprogression ressources after the cycle.
All that information you had in game though if you simply pointed your mouse.

In order to "Reforge Seal" which is your main objective on each cycle.
You need to have enough seal.
Example, top difficulty P20 Adamantine Seal require around 100 fragment, and the cycle duration is 80+ years.

So you need to plan a good "fragment per year" in order to achieve this.
Royal Resupply is 1 of the way to help you hit fragment target.
I am not sure if having extra fragment will net you bonus resource at the end of cycle or not.

If you have no problem with the fragment, then reserve embark can be very useful to unleash heaven in seal reforge settlement.
Reserve give you some extra point of embark point, that you can freely keep within current cycle.

You can select the seal you are headed toward on the main map and see how many fragments you will need to attempt it.
https://hoodedhorse.com/wiki/Against_the_Storm/Sealed_Forest also has a list of the number of fragments you need, with 4 for bronze, all the way up to 105 for adamantine.

Each succesfull settlement will grant you a number of Seal Fragments based on the difficulty. If you want to check how many you will get, you can do that in the embarkation screen.

Thanks everyone, great help.

There's only so much I seem to be able to learn on each cycle, and the use of reserve embarkation points within the current cycle (obvious when pointed out) was one of them. Also, the planning of a good "fragment per year" was entirely new to me.

At P1/L14, I obviously have a long way to go - which is good!

Yes, at final tier fight for P20 seal.
You need 100+ fragment with around 80+ years
If your average "frag / year" is 1, then this gap can only fill up by royal resupply frag.
But if your "frag / year" is better, you can use resupply get reserve embark.
Then on the seal forest, unleash the +12 embark point kickstart boost your game.

Also, a side topic.
Please consider rob the trader, because robbing trader really help a lot on your economy (strange eh) ?

Thanks!

On your side topic, I haven't read up on the consequences of robbery, but can I assume that they disappear at the end of the cycle?

The concequences are not even for the cycle, only for the game where you do the attacking.

Surely give it a try like samseng sais, it has its use, but he is kinda a special case in thinking its super awesome. For me, the traders are too crucial to my game play, as are my citizens. I think attacking traders is mostly not worth it.

Yeah I'm a trader attacker now too. Too juicy to resist the opportunity for huge stacks of resources, amber and perks/blueprints. Thanks again Samseng!

Big agree for "Rob the Traders" - I'm so glad I've been doing this (very new player, here) The benefits are pretty big, and the downsides are fairly inconsequential IMO, and even the Queen's Impatience points "penalty" can be a net positive, since they lower Hostility! There don't seem to be any lasting penalties that go any further than the actual single run you're on. NICE
One thing to note after a robbery is to check the trading post again - often there will be another trader heading your way that you can click "Call immediately" or whatnot, and get fresh meat to rob again right away; Wheeeeee!
