2. Seal fragments are needed to close seals. These shouldn't be a problem but in theory you could rush seals faster. Also they give you metaprogression ressources after the cycle.
All that information you had in game though if you simply pointed your mouse.
You need to have enough seal.
Example, top difficulty P20 Adamantine Seal require around 100 fragment, and the cycle duration is 80+ years.
So you need to plan a good "fragment per year" in order to achieve this.
Royal Resupply is 1 of the way to help you hit fragment target.
I am not sure if having extra fragment will net you bonus resource at the end of cycle or not.
If you have no problem with the fragment, then reserve embark can be very useful to unleash heaven in seal reforge settlement.
Reserve give you some extra point of embark point, that you can freely keep within current cycle.
https://hoodedhorse.com/wiki/Against_the_Storm/Sealed_Forest also has a list of the number of fragments you need, with 4 for bronze, all the way up to 105 for adamantine.
There's only so much I seem to be able to learn on each cycle, and the use of reserve embarkation points within the current cycle (obvious when pointed out) was one of them. Also, the planning of a good "fragment per year" was entirely new to me.
At P1/L14, I obviously have a long way to go - which is good!
You need 100+ fragment with around 80+ years
If your average "frag / year" is 1, then this gap can only fill up by royal resupply frag.
But if your "frag / year" is better, you can use resupply get reserve embark.
Then on the seal forest, unleash the +12 embark point kickstart boost your game.
Also, a side topic.
Please consider rob the trader, because robbing trader really help a lot on your economy (strange eh) ?
I am recruiting people into "Cult of 1st trader robbery"
On your side topic, I haven't read up on the consequences of robbery, but can I assume that they disappear at the end of the cycle?
The concequences are not even for the cycle, only for the game where you do the attacking.
Surely give it a try like samseng sais, it has its use, but he is kinda a special case in thinking its super awesome. For me, the traders are too crucial to my game play, as are my citizens. I think attacking traders is mostly not worth it.
One thing to note after a robbery is to check the trading post again - often there will be another trader heading your way that you can click "Call immediately" or whatnot, and get fresh meat to rob again right away; Wheeeeee!
