Erased all my progress WTF
Ummm this game erased all my progress with the latest update it seems WTF

We'll look into the files, check what might have gone wrong, and see if we can restore the backups or recreate the save file.

We were warned. I'm glad it's not taking all campaign progress. You were paid out for your previous run, it's unfortunate, and imo wasn't very well notified (besides the sticky in this forum I hadn't heard anything about it, and I only read that sticky this morning), but it could've been a lot worse and a lot less announced.

Just a note to any new, prospective, or returning players, and to OP I guess: The update of course did not and does not erase any progress at all. What happens is if you have a settlement in progress before the update, the update closes it and gives you the rewards as if you had won, as was explained well in advance. It gives you a free win.

Every update force-finishes settlements in progress, in order to avoid any major bugs; they advertise this every time.

Hence I make it a rule that whenever I play, it's always to have plenty of time so I can finish the game(s), period. That way, aside from anything the update changes, no progress is lost :P

The forum already has a sticky mentioned asking everyone finish current settlement.
You are still not losing everything because the terminated settlement from this event did compile you some resource.

You have 2 option
a) rant forever in forum, being angry when eating and thinking about this all the time during sleeping. And have rage/temper management issue
b) laugh it off, because you can start another settlement for different experience

I don't mind losing a settlement, as has been pointed out we were warned. However I notice at least some of my upgrades seem to be missing and that wasn't (I think?) part of the plan. No more beaver house upgrades for example. I can still upgrade other houses though so not sure what's going on there. Probably I'm missing something obvious as usual, heh.

That might be more of a case of the upgrade having been moved in the upgrade tree, and as a result of being moved, needs to be repurchased. Similar happened with a few other upgrades after the update IIRC

Yikes. Sounds like I got off lucky. I'll check the upgrade tree after I finish my current settlement and see if anything happened. Although it had been maxed out before the upgrade so I wouldn't expect stuff being moved around to matter.
