Calculating food consumption ?
Hey there, me again !

I searched for ways to calculate food consumption etc, the encyclopedia in-game says that human + beaver eat 1 food every 2mn and harpies + lizard every 1mn40.

For the sake of the argument, i'd take 1mn40 regardless of the species.

One year is 3 seasons.
The wiki says that Drizzle and Clearance last 4 minutes each, and the storm only 2mn.

So 600s per year, one break every 100s, is it safe to assume you should plan 6 food per person per year ? We could crank it up to 7 to be extra-safe and have some more room for error.

I always end up leaving my food production uncapped, but sometimes I can use the workers :-)

Just take 2 minutes average. Its a bit slower than those numbers because they first finish tasks and walk to hearth. Average will be even more than 2 mins.

So a year is 10 or 12 minutes so thats 5 or 6 breaks.

Each break they eat 1 food, or 1.5 if you have the 50% more food prestige modifier.

as one discord user put it, you can expect your villagers to consume roughly half your population in food every minute before modifiers. I find that the easiest way to calculate food consumption

Also, it is very good to make this calculation and be aware of your food needs and production, but dont worry too much about your exact food production and "to be extra-safe". You usually will find food from other sources like caches, glade events, order rewards. So often you can produce quite a bit less.

It is a difficulty setting. When you beat Viceroy for the first time you will unlock Prestige 1 difficulty. After Prestige 2 is P3, P4 and so on. I think on P6 you get a negative effect "your folks have 50% chance to consume double amount of food during break".

AFAIK, if you have multiple types of desired complex foods they will eat one of each on each break.
