Of course I do not mean Queens Hand game mode that is basically reserved for less than 10% best players, but an actual story that also casual players can experience.
SUccessful mean you get the queen audience.
Probably the only way to get queen audience
Lori gives us some scraps, but I want more. Like, some characters to interact in the city, maybe see people get more hopeful as you do more seals which pushes back the storm for years (though the fact its implied all viceroys are sealing them all the time makes the cycle extension reward odd)
An example might be the campaign from They Are Billions, or Crying Suns. Barebones but enough.
Indeed. This game would definitely hold my attention for much longer with a story element. and it doesnt have to be anything fancy. For example another game series I love is GemCraft and during game progression, you get to read a page of the MC's diary of his experience with, for example, a new type of enemy and talks about his next move or goal. And there's maybe 20ish pages for the entire game, but it adds flavor to the game play and a feel of making progress and immersion into the world.
My idea would be to have the player make the choice between nature or queen in the end. There could then be a map with either the queen's fortress or the forest's holy shrine and some insanely difficult debuffs and conditions. These endgame missions could be entirely optional too, since players could just decide not to partake and continue their endless runs.
Aunt Lori is like 90% of the ingame lore by herself.
I would like to have this confirmed as well: Does the game just continue without any real "ending?
Unless we work on the premise/theory she is behind the breaking seals to keep everyone under her rule.
Even the legendary FTL and Slay The Spire just a simply
"You start with this, now go beat up the final boss" finish
FTL has no plot development during the run yes, but it has a conclusion. You reach the final sector, and face the Flagship.
You also do see some snippets in events, like how the Cruiser is unlocked.
Here there is no 'flagship' just sectors forevermore.
The seals, which are spoken of as some progression that presumably would weaken the storm and ultimately end it, do not do so, and seems like all viceroys are sealing them all the time, rather than a big milestone for the people of the world.
