Against the Storm is one of my favorite games of all time
Thank you to all the developers who worked hard on this game.

It has totally blown me away. It's relaxing, it's engrossing, I love its layers of complexity, and it perfectly combines the roguelite and city builder genres in a way I never imagined possible. As a big roguelite fan this game is added to my favorite list which includes - Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Into the Breach, and Hades.

It's just incredibly unique in the strategy and roguelite space and you all did an amazing job - everything from the art, the music, the UI, the meta layers of growth, the game overlays, all the varying mechanics, the push and pull of so many systems, it's all just perfectly executed.

So I wrote this post just to say thank you for making one of my favorite games of all time. I've been playing strategy games for 30 years and this is absolutely one of the best ever.

Oh yes, indeed! First, I had been kind of "Hm, let's see" but now? WOW, a really fantastic game!

I agree this is 1 of the most unique and surprisingly well done game.

I am also fans of monster train hades slay spire into breach.
I think these are the current pinnacle of genre

I am also really enjoying this. The last city-builder I found anywhere near this atmospheric was Frostpunk.

I also fell in love with this one and I discovered it totally random through XGP. Then I bought it on Steam, just to thanks to dev for this gem! Can't stop playing, can't stop trying to help my fellows with their colonies.

i will be purchasing it, but just wondering whether the game has high replayability or not? I have seen some Youtube comments saying it doesn't have much after certain time.

Depends on your tastes, if you are looking for a challenge, you can get plenty of time. Anyway, firstly I recommend you try the demo, some people simply dislike the gameplay.

It's the first time I've played this type of game, feels like very good fit. I can't really compare it to anything else but it balances a lot of different elements nicely for a distinctive experience.

This is a Rogue ish game. Replayability is always the strong point of this genre.
ATS is the pinnacle top example within rogue genre.
On par with Slay The Spire, Monster Train, Into The Breach, Hades. (They are all more than 95% review score)

This is of course if your taste can accept "city builder" but is a rogue ish game.
If you can't accept other rogue ish game, or if you prefer ultra massive city that can last more than 50 real life hours, then this is not the game for you.

any game is replayable if you like it. I buy games cuz I like them. I love this game. I've played ~230 hours and I'm not done yet.

I try the demo and instantly bought it. Been so long I wanted to find the city management game with good replay ability and also challenging difficulty as the game progress. I love roguelite too. This game is just so good combine between roguelite and city building

First time I played the demo I got hung up on the non permanence aspect of it and did not even finish a game. Then the other day I decided to give it another go and forced myself to stick to it through an entire game. I hit the end of demo and bought it without hesitating.

This is my first city builder ever, doing it on lowest difficulty for the time being, slooowly getting the grasp of things, haven't lost anything yet, but it's not exactly hard rectifying mistakes on this difficulty, I feel like I'd mess it up real quick on any more average difficulties.

Many people keep thinking "why investing a city but it only last an hour or temporary".
The answer is replayability.

I think where a lot of games with this model fail is that they do not provide rewards great enough to make the non persistence of normal map play feel worth it. If this game only had the minor incremental gains attached to the unlocks I don't think I would find it fun. But the larger rewards attached to them feel tangible enough to make progression feel like its not a mind numbing grind.
