what exactly does blightrot % do?
Hi

What exactly does it do? if it hits 100 does something bad happen? is less than 100 doing something? Is the % the bar above the hearth or are they separate?

thanks

Using Rainwater creates Blight Cysts which in turn generates Hearth Corruption. The more Blight Cysts the quicker it corrupts your Hearth. 100% Hearth Corruption means that, unless action is taking to reduce the Blight Cysts, the Hearth will reach 100% during the Storm Cycle and you will lose 3 Villagers. To prevent that build a Blightpost and create Purging Fire so your villagers working the Blightpost have something to fight off the Blight Cysts corruption.

ok great thanks! I wanted to make sure it was fine to not always get it down to 0 corruption.

At the end of the storm, your hearth resets to zero corruption no matter what, so as long as you wont go above 100% during the storm it is harmless. The number at the lower right is an estimate of how much you will reach at the end of the storm if you do nothing about it right now.

Also if you see corruption 200%+ this would mean that during the storm Hearth will be corrupted 2+times, meaning you will loose more folks. Fortunately fully staffing Blight Post during Storm will help you fight it.

Above 100% just means that a bar starts filling up during storm season. The higher the corruption the faster the bar fills up. You only lose 3 villagers once the bar is filled.

Having corruption over 100 is not a big deal as long as you have blight fighters active during the storm. At 100% the bar fills up very slowly and every burned cyst partially resets the bar anyways so that it will never actually fill up as long as you are fighting the cysts at the same time.

From my experience one filled blight post can easily handle 10 active blight cysts and the bar will never fill up to kill anyone as long as there is enough fire in storage, even if it started at 200-300% corruption.

Only around 12-14+ active blight cysts you might have to think about a second blight post.

It's not always a waste. I've had blight rot spread on it's own when there was a lot of them, but not enough to corrupt the hearth. Not sure what the trigger was, but possibly it's getting to a specific corruption percentage by the end of the storm.
