If you like the gameplay loop from the green seals, you can keep playing them. That one is 'done', so you can progress to the next one up the chain if you want, but you can also just do it again if you thought it was fun.
The last couple seals take a very long time to complete, so it's a legitimate choice to stick with shorter seal runs, particularly if you have limited gaming time and want to see the seal biome content vaguely soon after it gets implemented.
Next is the blue one, if you do that one the cycle will go up another +8. On the following game the green ones will no longer even be on the map. You will now only have blue, which will say 16 and a checkmark, and purple which is the next tier (veteran).
So the format is the game offers currently completed tier and the next tier.
