How does population calculate into resolve/minute?
If I have 10 humans and 1 beaver, doesn't it make sense to make the humans happy over the beavers? But what's the exact calculation for the resolve/minute?

Additional information:
  • Species' Resolve to Reputation Ratio -> varies between Species (0.00013 for Humans and Beavers and 0.000195 for Lizards, Harpies, and Foxes)
  • Species' Population to Reputation Ratio -> currently 0.7 for every Species
  • Sum of All Modifiers -> 1 by default
  • This formula is for Reputation per second
  • Currently, the Max Reputation from Resolve a species can generate is clamped at 0.025 per second

Someone just asked the same question for me.
It was
population * resolve / 1200 (for high tresshold races)
population * resulve / 1850 (for low tresshold races)

Thanks mate!
So, it does take it into calculation. And it makes perfect sense!

This formula cant be right. No way its linear. I tested it sooo many times. Species population is NOT directly linear to rep gain (its definitely diminishing return) and the year is in the formula as well. Please give link to whoever posted the formula. Maybe its an old one.
@OP - please remove the solved status. I think everyone will confirm that the year is in the formula. And not as a linear coefficient either.
@devs - may we have the formula, please?

From observed behaviour it does appear to be linear, but it is stepped linear as in the threshold increases each time you earn 1 rep point with a particular race.

Humans suck at rep points generation, because they have high reputetion tresshold gain. While the beavers have the lowest. Long term its always better to make the beavers happy because for the same level of resolve they will generate you 2ce the points.

Im not even putting the treshhold into the perspective there. 1 harpy at 15 resolve will net 0.03 rep/min, while 3 at 15 will net 0.07. Year 1. Probably a lot of rounding. Only devs can tell us the current exact formula. Pretty please?

PS: Wait, its resolve and not resolve above the treshhold? Meaning for the same resolve level a low resolve specie will get slower rep than an above-the-treshhold-by-a-point high resolve specie? I will test that if devs dont respond.

At the bottom of this forum page you see my post titled "reputation from resolve formula"

So awesome to have Leisurely Luke around. :)

If we translate and compare that with the reddit info:
0.00013*R*0.7*P*60
0.000195*R*0.7*P*60

=>

P*R*0.00546 /min
P*R*0.00819 /min

=>

That makes the reddit formula closs but not exact.
1/1200 = 0.008333
1/1850 = 0.005405

Correct would be

P*R/1221
P*R/1831

Amazing! Thanks mate!
Alex helped a lot too though!

Its because they use resolve and not resolve over the treshhold, that made it look like the year was a component. You have naturally higher resolve as the game progresses due to impatience, new food/services, etc.
I was silly to waste my time tesing instead of asking to begin with.
The linear scale with pop growth changes everything for me. Now starting max pop is a lot more viable.
High resolve species generating rep at a faster rate is also important, since they only start generating rep mid to late game. Until now i was never interested in generating rep earlier with them. Beaver just got buffed in my book :D
