How does double production work?
As above I wanted to ask how does it work. So far I thought that having a Citadel upgrade will make it possible for my Lizard woodcutters to periodically bring double wood. But after watching a vid of someone playing P20, some of his comments made me believe that only Beavers will ever get that chance. Basically now I think that only a Beaver will do that in Woodcutters camp.

How I think it works is that you need a base starter, only then additional bonuses will apply. I believe that species specialty is such a starter as well as Rain Engines (otherwise they would suck). So now I believe that Humans working in a Lumber Mill can bring double yields only if you turn on the engines.

Can someone correct me if I am wrong?

Beavers have IIRC a 10% chance to get a double yield in a woodcutter's camp. I don't think the other races get a bonus there. This appears as a waterwheel effect around the race portrait on the building.

Other races have similar bonuses in other buildings. There seems to be a "good at" bonus and a "likes to" bonus. The "good at" bonus is as above, a chance of double yield with a waterwheel portrait. The "likes to" bonus is a bonus to resolve for that one pop, and is indicated with a blue glow around the portrait.

It's possible to have both of these at the same time, though I can't remember where. It was I think Lizards in a Smokehouse or similar building.

Double production % come in two flavors:
Global, and building specific.

A beaver gets a 10% chance for 2x production in regards to woodcutting, lumber production and a few other things. Lizards love to work with meat (and love hot buildings), harpies are good for cloth production and stuff related to alchemy and i believe some harvesting stuff, humans are the best farmers... etc.

And above all the race related boni comes the global kind of extra %, mainly from citadel upgrades and cornerstones. Oh, certain glade events influence this as well.

Yeah I know that Beavers know how to work with wood and they like engineering. I know Lizards are good with meat and like warmth. What I am asking here is: Can a Human working in Lumber Mill get double production? Considering that I have upgraded chance to do so.

I used to belive that after unlocking Citadel upgrade which increases chance of double production all of my workers could gain this benefit regardeless of who was working where.

After watching a video I mentioned before I believe only a Beaver can get double production in such building like Woodcutter Camp.

I see x2s happening in lots of random places, like a human producing fire in the blight post. So I think it applies everywhere.

Thank you, I guess I just missinterpreted the words in the vid.

Beaver has +10% by default for wood cutting.
If every race got +10% by the citadel upgrades. Then beaver has 10% + 10% for wood cutting, that explains itself.

Yeah, if you have no upgrade nore cornerstorne or any bonus, then only Beaver can 2x for wood cutting.

I was mostly considering what happens when you have some upgrades to increase the chance, but the worker is not specialised in the task.

You don't get the bonus +10%, on top of what chance you already have, upgrading a heart to level 3 gives a 10% global chance for double production (stacking), also.
