But yes, dangerous glades are meant to be dangerous. If there was a guarantee to solve them from day 0, where would the challenge be?
In this case, you can just take the hit. Let the timer run out and suffer the threats. You'll lose all your amber and wine and gain one impatience points, but those are pretty much inconsequential at the start of the game.
But the glade had farmland that I put to use right away, lol.
So by no means gamebreaking.
The solution was to build a trading post, summon the trader and buy the necessary 13 oil. It cost me a big stack of wood, some copper ore and a single part, but left me with a big glade containing three different advanced buildings and a good bunch of resources.
I'll probably still manage to lose the map in the end!
Time to put on your big boy pants...
That's a good question. AFAIK, there is no table of every glade event and every resource that solves each one. I wish the xml or sql or csv files that contain this information in the game were accessible, but they're packed in a way that I couldn't easily unpacked.
Still, I can share my experience. Tools (and infused tools) will work every time. After that, oil works more often than not. Coal and incense are probably in 3rd place for the most common? Scrolls and resin are also up there. Most events seem to take one of the building materials too, planks and fabrics more often than bricks.
If you can't embark oil yet, my advice is to not open a dangerous glade in the first year. Instead, get your infrastructure and a trader up, and cut trees right to the edge of a dangerous glade and open it ASAP on Drizzle of year 2. That will give you the maximum time to solve it, and you'll be better prepared to rush production (or buy, calling multiple traders early if need be) for what you need before the event either times out or you have to work it during Storm. Tools I would only use as a last resort, better to save them for caches if possible. Above Prestige 8 or 9 this might not work, but below that it should the vast majority of the time. And if you're playing on the mid-to-high prestige levels that early in the citadel unlocks, I'm impressed!
