is there any good reason to continue the settlement after you already won the round?

I did it for a bit today because my arranging of a nice looking settlement was interrupted by winning and I wanted to take a screenshot after they'd finished building the tavern...

No. It's the "one more turn" option from the Civilization franchise.

I think it's there because some players might get attached to their colony and not be finished tinkering with it yet.
