What's a good method for gold farming?

I sold all my gear under divine by dream of the demon (had enough mats from disassembly).
Gold wasnt an issue afterwards.

best way i found to farm gold and tea cups is do duel type quests. aslong as you buff up your item drop chance youll see a tea cup drop every 2nd match or so.

If you're having trouble with gold, you're likely soul matching something way beyond its need

But I personally find bulk selling any gear from divine or below to keep me afloat

Well, here are my tips based on experience...

1. In your hut, set up your tea utensils to max out tea utensils drop rate.
   1a. By DotD, you should be able to have a +10 to +20% drop
   
2. As others have said, you should consider reducing the number of soul matching you are doing. +15 is should be enough to get through DOTD and onto DOTW.
   
3. Sell non-divine equipment (unless they have orange or other inheritables you want).

The "Refined Man of the Underworld" quest (the one that's just a fight with Mezuki and Gozuki always rewards one teacup (plus any that happen to drop).

Set up your tea utensils in your hut for increased tea utensil drop rate, join the clan in the teahouse that increases you tea utensil drop rate. Grind a few missions and sell all the gear including the divine gear. An inventory full of divine gear will easily net you 3-4 million gold assuming you've got invested your patronage points into sell price markup.

Also, a good way to not waste gold is to not get caught up in soul matching low +level gear trap. What I mean by that is that it is not worth it to soul match divine gear that's 3 or more +levels below your own gear. I got caught in that trap in the first Nioh, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did I waste so much gold.
