save data gone

I think the cloud save might have saved my old character over the present one, is there anyway to recover my character? I was in like dream of the demon/dream of the wise and now I'm not even in new game + :'(

doubt it. this is one of the reasons i turned off cloud saves as it happened to me before in another game and lost several hours of progress. you could maybe get a more completed game save online, .....or replay all of it.

i think the game has backup saves locally if i remember correctly?
Look up where the game saves the data and look if there is a backup file.

if you cant get your old savegame data back im sure there are some people on the forums who can boost you through some levels and bosses to get you back to NG+´s

Kinda late to the party, but how far along were you into the game and what sort of build?

My save is gone too. I took a 3 month break and Steam doesn't recognise my save files anymore. Everything is still in the folder where it used to be, but no luck when in the game.

False alarm in my case. Windows Defender blocked folder access for some reason. Everything works now.
