If you're doing the main story on the base game difficulty, no DLCs, and a sampling of side missions, I estimate about 30~50 of game time hours before you see the credits. This number is reduced if you are going through the game co-op.
If you plan to explore most of the content of post-game content, you may find several hundreds of hours worth of play for a single character. That may start to increase if you start trying other play styles / builds or engage in co-op.
I collected everything possible and did every side-mission.
I spent some time forging and tempering equipment, especially when I started the DLC.
I grinded 500 human kills for every weapon to get the prestige titles.
I did every twilight mission I could once every day.
I grinded the obsidian set smithing text. I also tried to get the Swordmaster smithing text (the heavy armor) but I gave up.
I grinded all sword, double sword and the 2 sohayamaru boss skills. Still missing 1 sword skill from the 3rd DLC.
I think I still have at least 100h to go.
Getting through the main story final boss(not dlc) took me around 50-60 hours due to playing it a bit slow.
need kill last boss (without DLC) and then there will be new option in hut
