50 dollars = 60 euros ? What ?
I know Steam has always considered 1 dollar = 1 euros for years although that's not the case, but that's the first time there's a huge difference between the US price and the EU price.

What is the deal ?

Actually, these days, Steam's automatic conversion is like 0.84€ on a dollar. You don't really see publishers leaving it at that too often though. And this 10€ extra is just garbage. But it's just gonna get more common. Koei Tecmo has done it before mulitple times. At least it's not 80€.

See also Sony's PS5 games, $70 vs 80€ from now on. Apparently us Europeans are all rich af so let's f them in the a.

Yes, i've noticed the conversion was automatic these days, already bought games with their actual euro price in comparison to US price, but that's always "lower".
I wonder why Nioh 2 is 10+ euros more expensive in Europe though. 60 is huge for a digitalized version of the game, especially when I already have it on PS4 pro but I wanted to play at 60fps with a pretty good preset instead of the performance mode from the console version. :(

Yeah. But i'm pretty sure it's on KOEI Tecmo's end.

this is annoying, i understand dollar = euro because of taxes, but this recent +10 already made me not buy a PS5

I guess I will go to a key-seller then.

Yep, it has to be, if you were to look on SteamDB you can see the price valve suggested, which is £33 in the UK and in Europe 42 Euro

I'll pick it up from a key seller as the prices are far more reasonable

If I recall someone else did the same. I forget if it was also Koei, but probably the case. For whatever reason Koei likes to price things higher for EU.

regional pricing. Almost all Japanese games release at a similar price point (~1490 NTD = 50~53 USD). I reckon that's a fair price to ask for a complete edition.

Which is a fair price for US but the difference between EU and US is ridiculous.
I really don't know why japanese games (especially from KOEI) cost that much in Europe.
I wouldn't have been mad if they were going for the dollar = euro bs.

eur=usd is legit bc eur includes vat so it's roughly same price depending where you live

$50 is justified for a late port imo, first one was pretty fun tho a bad port that was also late
