In the new update you can make multiple camps much easier now though. Of course it suits the Trader scenario best imo.
DON'T BOTHER READING AFTER THIS SENTENCE, IT'S JUST ME RANTING ABOUT HANDLE AND DELIVER!
I think at least some type of carts for hauling stuff around. I see that the amount that can be hauled from a crop field seems to be related to the physical spec, that's nice. But I end up taking a guy, turning off everything but 'Deliver' on them for a couple of days, because stuff is always left laying around all over the place. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong? for those who don't like to carry back the stuff they've cut/mined/harvested, but I find it annoying with my anal-retentiveness (Army Training, Sir!) watching things around the camp and fields descend into chaos as those two logs are left, those 100 grain are left, those g-darned Beefberries (what's up with picking them up?) are left. Soon there's DAYS worth of stuff to pick up.
And then you get situations where I'm grabbing a guy who's walking off from finishing the last two pieces of flooring... it says 'no materials' but it says I've got 285 stone, what? Oh. It's somewhere out there somewhere where it was left when mined. Where? I don't know, I have to zoom into ground level and fly around like a mad man to find the missing stone! And don't get me started on butchering! You shoot the animal, butcher the damn thing, I don't care about the darn furnace needs handled right now! Finish your jobs, people!
So, give us carts or vehicles or something to fix this attitude of the survivors who don't think "Deliver" is really their job, cause they have to handle that gosh darn Mushroom Torch RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW IT'S IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW! THE MUSHROOM TORCH!
Now, I understand "Handle" is to the left of "Deliver" and after some initial confusion, I understand the priority thing (despite some videos that have it completely wrong) and I understand the priorities reset (although not quite sure when or how or why) BUT it seems there's a lot of dropping of what people are doing to handle nonsense tasks (OK not complete non-sense, but really, you have to fix the campfire RIGHT NOW walking a half mile back from the field? And how'd you know it needed fuel for that torch in that room you were a mile away and outdoors!?
So, again, maybe a vehicle or cart or something would fix this for ME because I can't see you redoing the whole game mechanic of handle and deliver. And maybe I grow too much food, but I've been homeless and starving and have dumpster dived for food, this isn't about my PTSD, it's about how the 'Deliver' doesn't deliver like the Handle delivers (see what I did, a funny!) and the 'Deliver' is just dropped off the end of the Harvest (whatever task) so that the Survivor can Handle something that can be handled by anyone. ALL my people have to be on priority 1 for Handle et Deliver because having just a couple people do it just doesn't work?
My guess is programming entirely new AI takes too much time and effort. Probably why this game doesn't allow multi-level structure even though it allows building in different elevation. Sadly, my dream of making the best Commie Block on a new planet is dashed.
:(
Need some backpacks for the Doggos reminiscent of Fallout 4! Get em trained up they're there to fight with you and carry more than any dog possibly could for you!
(Now I'm feeling bad cause can't remember the name of the dog in F4... old brain)
Hopefully, as the game gets developed, they'll give us an option to set that in pawns themselves. (Do not transport) or something. So when they finish their job, they just leave the product on the ground. Other games like this have that, so my cook or my salvage person can finish making/salvage something and just set it down for someone else to pick it up.

It seems that a lot of the options we'd like to see are not going to be considered for the default game itself, but thanks to this dev you can still pick up a mod and get them. He's done a whole bunch of QoL mods.
You'd miss out on any manure & baby-making time when you took the animal out to haul stuff, and it would take extra time going out and back because they move slower than people walk (which is actually true of many pack animals / hauling animals IRL).
Steam workshop is the most hassle-free way to install mods ever created. Griping about having to click a button is kinda weird.
