Water
Are there any plans for using the water on these planets?
Seems a waste not to use it ;(

skinny dipping or ice skating to get relaxed?

Lots of possibilities, we can only wait and see.

Bumping this for more ideas on water use (and possibly a reply from a dev/moderator?).

Right now the only thing bodies of water are good for are restricting hostile access to one (or more) side of your base - but by doing that you're handicapping the amount of resources within gathering range.

Hoping for fishing, recreation, proximity buffs (who doesn't like to fall asleep to the sound of waves lapping the shore?), water as a recipe ingredient?

What are some other things water could be used for?

For survival yes, but we have to stay focused. This is a survival game and not love island.
Hey all!

There's nothing in our plans for game features or mechanics using water, but the team is aware that it's a highly requested feature.

GOOD GOD< NO WATER. If that happens, it would be added for our survival needs, like FOOD, Except, add FISH. LOL

Area denial. Its sorta what moats do for castles no? You could add spiked obstacles to it to complete the picture. I mean if sometimes bugs ignore the main entrance and just attack walls it makes sense. Could be another reason to have water towers. Not just a good sniping spot, it stores everything you need water to do, even for booby traps!

Am I the only one who finds a survival game, where you need to cover nourishment requirements and your protagonists are humans (at least they look like humans to me), but these humans do not need water - which is basicaly their main body element and requirement - that this is very odd / unrealistic. Or are these things somekind of artificial inteligence resembling humans? Basic survival principles ussualy target water availability above food. Would expect some rain colectors, buckets, barels, water boiling for a less risky consumation, later even pipe system and etc. But there is nothing, and is not even planned. What are these things that we control then, because at minimum they cant be pure humans. What are your ideas, whi are they?

I too would like the water to be used for fishing or for cooking, maybe use the water for cooling during heatwaves, but the waters are amazing, I do love them

Would be awesome if developers would add rivers, lakes oceans, streams, wells I don't just some water like for fishing and other water uses like water collecting, piping and using water to create power ..... They can add new water species attacks I mean a lot can be done when it comes to water we need rivers/ lakes/ oceans or creating our own wells and streams

Water Towers / Rainwater collection / defensive moats / plant irrigation for better farming / fishing / new predators / Fire suppression (assuming fires make it into the game)

Find it surprising that water has no benefit in this game. Even a little bit. I suppose it would just jack the difficulty up trying to manage it with food

YOu have cooked meals - basicaly almost all of them are soups. So you have much of the water needs applicability covered, but you can still add a ton of additional content and functionality with including it as a resource.
