What a blast I had playing this game. Really worth picking up if you love a dark story line.

Managed to complete it after 24 hours, over three days of barley any sleep, I was enthralled!

The writing in this game is amazing, and it's paced well to make you want more on a first playthrough and have to be strategic about your movements, and realize the weight Necromancy and the decisions you're making have. I also think the interactions with characters, while in a standard dialogue system, give a lot of depth and feel to the game. I never really knew how hard I could lean on one character for help/resources and what would be the thing that set them over the edge to turn on me, and if you're trying to do a "good" playthrough, that becomes paramount.

The only real "negatives" I felt was that I think fast travel outside maybe should have came a bit earlier, just because running does get a bit tedious outside the city, and a combat system overhaul would do the game wonders. The combat feels like more of a plus just having it at all, I turned on the easiest difficulty and didn't feel like I was missing much, but with a fleshed out system with more abilities and skill trees that made my Necromancer feel more "me", it would have put it over the top.

I was honestly doubtful about this game at first, worried it might be shallow or feel unfinished or any number of worries, but after 15 hours of playing it I'm absolutely sold on it for good.
This is clearly an arduous work of pure love, the story and writing feel like somebody truly cared about the world and the characters in it, and the atmosphere, while feeling ever so slightly janky for some reason, is something I can't seem to get tired of.

At this point, the second I reach the game's main menu I get actual chills, partially because I'm so excited to see where the game goes next, partially because I love how the game treats the protagonist's own character development - I immerse myself deep in games like this, and they managed to make me frightened of my own character even though it's entirely the player's choice whether they try to be a decent human or... something else. :D
Haven't reached the end yet, but I'm confident it'll leave me very satisfied.

If you like reading a lot, paying close attention to pretty much everything and LOTS of walking, I can't recommend this game any higher. It's a rare, unforgettable experience.
While there is a very quick and very easy fast travel system in the game, and while it gets even easier later on, I can only recommend taking the long way 'round, won't take long once you know the way - you can miss out on some really interesting details.
Combat's a bit meh, but that's fine. :D
