This game kind of doesn't know what it wants to be.

It has a lot of puzzle elements using the 2-3 characters, but many are pointless. One character opens a door on one side, and the other character has to hold it open on the other side. When there are real puzzle areas they are pretty good. You have to make use of each character's unique movement abilities, and figure out how to get some characters around. New elements show up enough to keep it interesting. You have a lot of order of operations you have to get right. This works well.

Then there's combat. It's not too hard, but getting hit in the early game is quite punishing before you cook more healing items than you can carry or use. Having to manage 3 characters also makes some combat super easy, while still being annoying to move the group around.

Everything it does, it does OK, but together it isn't quite right. Great animation shows up now and again which is a treat. It's not bad, it just seems to have fallen short of where it was aiming and is the worse for it.

Solid side scroller, with a bit gimmicky team mechanic, but makes up for most of its flaws with amazing visuals and sound
