Really annoying bug

I've encountered it three times now, I just get stuck rolling endlessly. Oddly, it consumes no stamina to do so. But I'm just stuck. Had it happen during a boss fight that was otherwise going pretty well, so that was a bummer. Anyone know what causes this/how to avoid it?...
