Craft from nearby chests?

Title says it. Any chance we are getting, or already got this?

I didn't see anything in the patch notes over the last couple months, and I was gonna get back into this game since there's more areas unlocked now. Should be able to load machines around my chests from them. That'd be swell.

You can attach a craft connector to a chest, which can connect its contents to a crafting device.
But it's mostly used to automate crafting.
I don't really find it easy to use for manual crafting.

Automated Machines have an inventory section. You put all your stuff in it, and it will make what you tell it to.
